  How to Buy LiDAR

Airborne 1’s goal is to make it possible for firms of all sizes to compete in the marketplace and be able to offer the most cutting-edge LiDAR services available.  We want to work with you to help you gain entry, cut costs, ensure quality, and find more profits in the LiDAR arena.  To do this we offer everything from full turnkey services to fractional ownership plans and everything in between.

Turnkey Services
Let Airborne 1 do all the work by taking care of your needs from start to finish.  This service is best for new entrants and consumers of smaller amounts of LiDAR data.  To learn more about LiDAR turnkey services please click here.  For a free quote click here.

Feature Extraction & Vegetation Removal
Once you learn how the whole process works, bringing portions of the work in-house is easy.  Begin with final mapping, then move into feature classification, and finally vegetation removal.  You should expect to pay 5-15% less for this level of service.

GPS Post Processing
To save an additional 10-20% you will want to consider training on and handling all of your own GPS post-processing.  To learn more about Airborne 1’s training services, click here.

Raw Data Processing
If you want to save even more money, about 50% off pure service pricing, you may want to train on and begin handling your own proprietary post-processing.  This means you are having a project flown and being handed all of the raw data files.  To learn more about Airborne 1’s data processing services, click here.

Sensor Rental
Renting a sensor is a great idea if you are shooting more than a couple of projects per year and have ready access to a suitable platform.  It moves risks to your side, and increases corresponding rewards…if the weather cooperates!  To learn more about Airborne 1’s rental services click here.

Fractional Ownership
Fractional ownership programs offered by Airborne 1 allow you to cost-share a sensor.  The goal is simple:  spread the high fixed costs and incredibly high capacity of a sensor across multiple users, providing each owner with just the level and timing of access they need.  To learn more about Airborne 1’s Fractional Ownership Plan, click here.

Franchising
Airborne 1’s unique LiDAR business solutions are already available to people around the world, but now we would like to make them even easier to enjoy.  We are looking for individuals and companies that are driven, have a passion for customer service, and have significant experience in the business world to help us take Airborne 1 around the globe.  We have a vision of Airborne 1 offices conveniently in every corner of the world to allow people the flexibility to obtain services on their schedule without waiting for customs or government officials.  To learn more about Airborne 1’s franchising opportunities, click here.

Sensor Ownership
Assuming you have enough demand to justify the full capacity of a sensor, full ownership may be the way to go.  Remember:  The design capacity of a typical sensor flying at a 2km altitude is about 3,400 square miles per day.  We’re all striving to improve our utilization rates, and most will tell you it’s a tough business to knock out more than a few hundred square miles per shift, in real world practice.
